PERSPECTIVE - 6 FRAMED DRAWINGS - GO GO BAR ART SPACE - 2018
In Perspective, Feillafé takes the notion of linear perspective and meditates on this
fundamental tool used to describe and make sense of the world, a tool which has been used
throughout the history of western art as well as in the field of science. In the six drawings
presented the artist has used coloured pencils, considering their function as tools used by
children in early development as a way of understanding abstract ideas, and constructs a
network of lines that suspend spectral forms inside these projected spaces. He imagines these
forms occupying space and time, moving through planes on an x y and z axis. The use of
different shades and values of reds and yellows are used to demonstrate the colour theory of
colour perspective, a theory used in conjunction with linear perspective, where colours become
cooler and less vibrant as the recede. This interest in exploring arts function historically and
socially is a recurring theme in Feillafés work and is framed with an ontological lense.
